IMG_3448.jpg - Inside the Old North Church-the oldest in Boston (built in 1723). This is the church that famously houses the two lanterns that glimmered from its steeple on the night of April 18, 1775. This is the church where Paul Revere and Robert Newman managed to signal the departure by water ("One if by land, two if by sea") of the British regulars to Lexington and Concord. Revere was signaling Charlestown across the harbor. Newman ascended the steeple carrying the lanterns while Revere began his famous boat trip across the river.
