IMG_3465.jpg - Joseph Warren- had recently been commissioned as a major general but fought as a private. Warren was one of the colony's foremost patriots and is the one who sent his friend, Paul Revere, on the midnight ride. After his death (at age 33) his body lay in a shallow grave on Breed's Hill until the British evacuated Boston in 1776. It was then that his remains were disinterred and buried ceremoniously in the Granary but his descendents moved his remains several times before the final resting place at Forest Hills Cemetary. His body was identified by Paul Revere, his "dentist", who recognized his own handiwork: the silver springs in Warren's false teeth.
